Upcoming Zimdancehall artist Simbarashe Svisviro known as Jahry has said the lack of promoters in the industry was a drawback for upcoming artists.
He called on the corporate world to assist upcoming artists.
“The music industry has grown and as artists we are very much grateful with the development but what continues to worry many of us is lack of promoters,” said Jahry.
“This has been a stumbling block for most of us as we are deprived opportunities to perform.”
Jahry said he longed for an opportunity to record with established studios such as Chillspot.
“For an artist to be recognised in the music arena, you need to make a name for yourself that is why some artists like Rickfire and Jah Master have chosen to record at big studios where opportunities are unlimited,” he said.
Jahry has two albums and is working on a single set to be released before the end of the month.
“I have worked with some artists from Chitungwiza such as Kabhidha and currently I am working on a single which I hope will be released before the end of this month,” he said.
