High flying Zim Journoz FC will on Saturday face off with the broadcast men ZBC FC in what has been dubbed the EL Scribio Derby.
The match will be played at Mt. Pleasant high school, with kick off aet for 1pm.
Boasting of free scoring target man Bruce Chahwanda, who has been in fine form, finding the net in his last three matches, Zim Journoz FC is the team favoured to walk away victorious in the derby.
The team has been strengthened by the return of prodigal son Teddy Manyepo who is known for his tirelessness in the middle of the park.
Injury prone Moses Matenga has been certified fit for the game. However, it remains to be seen if he will last at least five minutes on Saturday as has become the norm.
The team has also signed lanky defender Rest Mutore from rivals H-Metro.
There are however, injury worries in the Zim Journoz FC camp with two star players-captain Felex Share and winger Problem Masau having limped off in the last match due to hamstring troubles.
Zim Journoz FC coach Simiso Mlevu said she is happy with the shape of the team ahead of the El Scribio.
“I am happy with the preparation. As you know, we don’t train but our mental preparedness comes from us talking about the game. There has been a lot of talk in our social groups and this helps the team prepare,” she said.
Sources say the microphone men are currently in sixes and sevens due panic ahead of the match.
Some say they have resorted to trying every trick in their bag to intimidate Zim Journos FC players.
Allegations of trying to bribe players on the other side of the turf in a bid to fix the game are in the corridors.
This strategy might not bring the desired results as Zimjournoz FC recently received major financial boost from their benefactors Denford Mutashu and Sly Media.
“The moral is now high in camp after a heavy financial injection from our sponsors, if ZBC wins against us I will definitely castrate myself,” said Zimj Juornoz FC assistant coach Phil Jambaya.
_Team medics Faithful Mazodza and Abigail Tembo said they were raring to go and said players were free to fake injury so they could have a feel of soft hands during the match to their boost morale_.
