Glad African Championship side, Cape Umoya’s speedy winger Gabriel Nyoni is concerned injuries sustained last Thursday may result in end of his football career.
The former Maritzburg United attacking midfielder, sustained a terrible injury on Thursday, during a league match versus Richard Bay FC at Umhlathuze Sports Complex Grounds.
Nyoni told SlyMediaNews he was in pain and was awaiting the doctors’ assesment today.
“The injury is terrible, I am in pain,” said the 28-year old former Highlanders and Caps United player.
“I am waiting for further assesements.
“The doctors confirmed that I sustained broken bones and ligaments.
“I have eight screws in the foot and I hope it is not the end of the road.”
Nyoni joined the Cape Town based side in September last year from Maritzburg, following a series of continued injuries that led to him being offloaded.
His one-year contract with Cape Umoya expires in June.
