Bournemouth FC left-footed defender Jordan Zemura’s absence owing to a sustained ankle injury, has negatively impacted the Championship side after losing at home to Preston North End Wednesday evening.
Bournemouth are the current log leaders in the second-highest English Football League with 37 points from 16 games, two ahead of Fulham after playing the same number of games.
Under the watchful eye of Scott Parker as their manager, the Cheries have won nine of their last 10 games.
Given the absence of utility defender, Zemura, who is still nursing his injury, making him not available for section yesterday, the Cheries suffered their first defeat of the season when they hosted Preston at Vitality Stadium.
Prior to his injury, the Warriors defender has been impressive so far this season.
His superb individual performance, has caught the attention of his coach, Parker who recently, reportedly pushed the club to try extend the 23-year-old’s contract.
Zemura’s injury came at a time when he was on top of his game, having played every minute for his club, grabbing three goals and providing assists this season.
The England based defender is also a doubt for the Warriors’ World Cup qualifier games against Bafana Bafana and Ethiopia next week.
