ZEC Establish Voters’ Roll Inspection Centres

Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) has establishment voters’ roll inspection centres so that citizens can inspect if their names are in the document

 

 

 

 

Speaking during a media briefing, ZEC Spokesperson Jasper Mangwana said that the Commission has already established some delimitation voters roll inspection centres and there are people who are in charge of each centre.

 

 

“11107 delimitation voters’ roll inspection centres and two officers will be in charge of each centre,” he said.

 

 

He added that, this voters’ inspection will only applied to those who have registered to vote before the deadline.

 

 

“The inspection exercises is for those who registered under BVR up to 30 May 2022.

 

 

“Inspection will run from 17 to 26 July 2022,” said Mangwana.

 

 

 

He also said that to decongest people during this period one can use internet to check his or her name.

 

 

 

“To decongest people those who are NetOne and Econet subscribers can use *265# mobile platform or the bvrinspection.zec.org.zw. “,he said .

 

 

Meanwhile, ZEC Chief Elections Officer, Utloile Silaigwana said the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) invites applications from observers and the media for accreditation to observe the inspection of the Provisional Voters’ Roll for delimitation, by-elections and the delimitation exercise.

 

 

The accreditation of successful applicants shall be conducted between 8 am and 5 pm at ZEC Head Office commencing on 15 July 2022 up to 27 July 2022. Please note that more venues will be identified and notified in due course.

” Local observers USD10 or ZWL equivalent at prevailing Bank rate.

“Observers from the continent of Africa – USD20.

“Observers from foreign Embassies in Zimbabwe — USD50.”he said

“Observers from any country outside Africa – USD100

“Zimbabwean media practitioners accredited with the Zimbabwe Media Commission and working in Zimbabwe for foreign media houses —USD 50.

“Zimbabwean local media practitioners accredited with the Zimbabwe Media Commission — USD 10 or ZWL equivalent at prevailing Bank Rate,”said Silaigwana
