Zanu PF Election Promises Fake: CCC Leader Nelson Chamisa

By Jabulani Khumalo

Opposition Citizens Coalition for Change leader Nelson Chamisa said the ruling ZANU PF has been taking citizens for granted as it has been giving fake electoral promises in the last four decades.

The opposition leader was addressing thousands of supporters in Epworth open space
during the party’s last rally ahead of the March 26 by-election.

Chamisa accused ZANU PF of running down the economy which at some point was referred to as the jewel of Africa.

He said the ZANU PF government is solely responsible for the misery citizens are

“Politicians and should not just make empty promises as we have seen ZANU PF doing. Those in positions of authority, your job is not to make promises but to deliver,” Chamisa said.

“We are tired of empty promises from ZANU PF for over forty years,”.

He also excoriated the promise made by President Emmerson Mnangagwa last month to issue residents of Epworth with tittle deeds saying it is just a gimmick the ruling party is using to lure voters.

“There is no assurance in speeches and you can only be assured of title deeds when you poses one. All these are fake promises. ZANU PF has no capacity to fulfil any of the promises it has been making.” said Chamisa

Twenty-eight constituencies will be going to the ballots to elect new representatives in
National Assembly.

Of the twenty-eight seats, nineteen became vacant following recalls by opposition MDC-T, eight were due to death while one was due appointment to diplomatic mission.
