Prophet Walter Magaya’s side, Yadah FC will take on Harare giants Caps United FC in the Group 1 Chibuku Super Cup fixture set for this afternoon at the National Sports Stadium.
The match will see the return of the Chibuku Super Cup after Government issued a waiver on sporting activities in the country.
This followed Government’s initial announcement earlier this month, to suspend sporting disciplines in the country, as an effort to curb the spread of the deadly Covid-19 virus.
In an interview, Caps United gaffer Darlington Dodo stressed out the importance of this fixture.
He applauded Government for its effort to allow football to return in the midst of the pandemic.
“The most important thing is that football is back and we are so grateful to the authorities for all the efforts to bring it back,” he said.
“We are ready to take on Yadah FC today and collect maximum points, despite that we drew them in the first leg of this competition.”
Dodo said his troops were ready to improve interms of rhythm since football had been on hold.
“Interms of rhythm the boys will work hard to make sure they take it up from where we left and do better than what we did in the first round of these games,” he said.
Makepekepe are seated on second position with seven points, four behind log leaders Dynamos FC who are on eleven points after the same number of games.
In the Chibuku Cup Group 1, Harare City and ZPC Kariba are tied on six points, Yadah are on five points and Herentals anchor the group with two points.
Meanwhile, another Group 1 fixture that was lined up for today, between Harare City and ZPC Kariba was postponed after five of the latters’ technical staff tested positive for Covid-19 during the weekend.
