Warren Hills Cycle Track A Hub Of Thieves

Warren Park residents are walking in fear as some of them have fallen victims to thieves who are operating hiding from the maize fields along the cycle track at Warren Hills turnoff.

 

 

Unconfirmed reports said some women have been raped

Some residents have now stopped to go and check progress of their crops in fear of being robbed or raped

In an interview with Sly Media residents expressed their grief towards thieves who are stealing from them.

 

 

“I am so disappointed with the way our fellow Africans are surviving on nowadays stealing is very bad because no one has enough in this world.

“Yesterday in this cycle track near a Mujacaranda tree I was robbed by thieves, they took my belongs and ran away,” said Chipo Kamudzonga.

 

 

 

Another resident said that he was beaten on his way from work and left him half dead.

 

 

” I was beaten by some men who just appeared from the maize field and they took my cellphone and left me unconscious,” said David Nyaruvara.

” I was beaten half dead by these men to an extent that I was vomiting blood.”

 

 

An eye witness said that another woman got raped.

” A young woman was raped last week at this same point and she lost her goods she was carrying, ” said one eye witness who identify herself as Mai Rudo.

 

 

The residents have appealed to the law enforcement agents to apprehend the thieves

 

“The place turned out to be dangerous than what we thought because a cycle track is a place pedestrian should freely walk without fear but now it is a home of goons,” said Margaret Mudzimba

 

 

Another vendor who usually use that route to work said it is the best for people not to plough in the cycle track so that the place is always clear to see everyone and everything.

 

“I think to curb this issue people must stop ploughing near the cycle track so that these thieves will be seen clearly,” said Maria Mabasa.
