Caps United forward Ishmael Wadi (28) has arrived in South Africa to undergo a two-week trial with Pretoria based and National First Division side JRD Stars FC.

The move comes after the Nditsheni Nemasisi owned club, JRD FC, were impressed by the former Harare City and Bulawayo City player, Wadi.

According to a source close to the Caps United, JRD wrote an invitation letter to Makepekepe in requesting to try out the player for period of two-weeks with immediate effect.

“We write to your club with appreciation and admiration of what your technical team is doing to bring out the best from your players, it is because of that reason, we write to you as our team has developed interest in one of your players.

“The player in this regard is known to us as Ishmael Wadi, we therefore would like to invite the player for a two weeks assessment in Pretoria South Africa,” reads the letter posted by the source.

Wadi confirmed the trial stint to Sly Media News saying he was humbled by the opportunity.

The 28-year-old striker added he was happy to find himself being called for trials outside the country.

“Yes, I left the country today (Thursday) in the afternoon, “he said.
“I safely arrived in Pretoria.
“This is obviously a great feeling, I’m happy and humbled by this opportunity.”

Prior to the suspension of Chibuku Super Cup tournament, the Caps United top signing, Wadi, proved to have settled well with his new club.

The Green Machine new poster boy had become a regular goal scorer for the club in the much coveted Chibuku Cup.

As it stands, he is a joint top goalscorer with FC Platinum’s Rodwell Chinyengetere, after scoring four goals in five game
