National Blood Service Zimbabwe (NBSZ) is urgently looking for well-wishers in good health to come and donate blood as the stocks are critical low.
In a statement Thursday NBSZ said the Covid-19 pandemic has created challenges that have impacted on blood stocks globally and the country has not been spared.
âItâs hard to underscore how damaging the one-two punch of Covid-19 and the lockdown measures have been on the blood bank,â Ephraim Mubayi NBSZ communications manager said.
âNBSZ is appealing to all blood donors who are due or who have not come to donated for while and to health members of our communities who have not donated before to come forward and make a life-saving donation.â
The daily stock requirements nationally are at 315 units of blood
NBSZ clinics are open as from Thursday 18 February from morning to late afternoon for donors to donate
