The local football league governing body, PSL has called off two more league games that were scheduled for this weekend due to the outbreak of Covid-19.
This comes a few days after the local league authority cancelled five other fixtures owing to the pandemic.
Harare City versus Yadah then Bulawayo Chiefs and FC Platinum games slated to take place on Sunday at National Sports and Luveve Stadium respectively, are the latest fixtures to be postponed.
They join the other five involving Black Rhinos vs Caps United, Manica Diamond vs Highlanders FC, WhaWha vs Bulawayo City, ZPC Kariba vs Triangle United and Dynamos FC vs Cranbourne Bullets.
Efforts to obtain a comment from PSL were fruitless after the communications officer Kudzai Bare did not respond to the messages by time of publishing the story.
However, ambitious side Bulawayo Chiefs took to their twitter account to confirm their fixture’s postponment.
“Ninjas, you might have to wait a little longer for our CHAMPIONS LEAGUE match (us being the Byo Champions) vs Zim Champions, FC Platinum. PSL has postponed the fixture due to Covid”, reads the twit.
This means the PSL is likely to have only two league matches this weekend and all are set to be played today.
