Socialite transgender Tatenda Karigambe known as Queen Tatelicious who recently found out she had a son said she is ready to play her parental role and she wanted her son to respect her.
Last month, following DNA tests done on 15-year old Tanyaradzwa, it was proved Queen Tatelicious was the boy’s father.
In a video posted on her Facebook page, Tatelicious said she took her role as a father seriously.
“Teenager harirerwe ne spoon mukanwa especially if a parent is in diaspora like me,” she said.
“Tanya is naturally a rude boy and mind you his 15 years old just starting his teenage.”
The video has however sparked debate with some of her followers accusing her of being too harsh.
“That is not the way to parent your son,” commented Francisca Mudimbu.
“Do not hurt his emotions, the child seems to suffering from psychological trauma and your language is too heavy for the boy and worse because it’s on social media.”
Other followers even said she should protect instead of exposing all that information to the public.
”This kind of parenting is so toxic,” wrote Mumu Chivan.
“Firstly, you were not in the child’s life for so long this is the time to be building a relationship not trying to stamp authority.”
Some suggesting that respect was not requested but earned and what Tatelicious did was wrong.
“Respect is earned not demanded, verbally abusing your child is not something we can applaud you for and if you think you are building the next generation up throught abuse you are so wrong”. said Frank .
