Today is #internationalwomensday2021 and am celebrating the #8th woman who is full of energy and passion for what she does. She is Soneni aka Thandeka Gwizi

She is an independent Broadcaster and Influencer. She inspires me a lot because she has not let her disability limit what she wants to become.

She is a disability activist who passionately fights against the discrimination of people with disabilities.

Because of the work she does, she has sat on different boards and has assumed very important positions.
In 2013, she was the United Nations World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) Ambassador for Zimbabwe.

In 2018 she became the ADD (Action on Disability and Development) Ambassador for Africa, Zimbabwe.
ADD International is a disability rights organisation based in UK which partners with disability activists in Africa and Asia to build powerful movements for change.

Soneni Gwizi has also been on powerful international platforms to speak about what she is passionate about.
In December 2020, she was among international panelists on a World Bank-organised online event titled Amplifying the voice and spotlighting visibility:

Experiences of women and girls with disabilities in the Covid-19 response. I just love her energy.

During lockdown, she also started doing disability friendly exercises to improve her health, encouraging others with disabilities to do the same.

And she also bought her car recently and will take me for a drive when I go to Bulawayo Congrats lil sis for the car, but most importantly for the amazing work you do to transform lives.

Happy #iwd2021
