The disgruntled female member of the Zimbabwe National Army (ZNA) Memory Chiroroma dragged Aaron Gomo to Chief Nyamaropa’s traditional court in Madziva demanding $1500USD demages him for wasting her time and marrying another woman.
The two started living together in 2021 after the death of his wife and agreed that Gomo was going to pay lobola for Chiroroma on the condition that he had to do his wife’s memorial service first.
Chiroroma who works for the Zimbabwe National Army was transferred to Harare during their courtship period, upon her return she discovered that Gomo had married another woman.
In an effort to find out what had transpired despite the agreement they had made, Gomo answered saying for your own information you do not tell me the number of women to marry.
‘When I was transferred to Harare, my father died I didn’t attend the funeral, he(Aaron Gomo)stopped me from going saying it was embarrassing as he had not paid lobola I didn’t attend the memorial service as well.’ Chiroroma said.
Chiroroma’s family pressured her on getting the lobola paid, she defended her boyfriend Gomo pleading with her family that as soon as they get the money they were to pay the lobola as he had to cater for his first wife’s memorial service.
The two have a child although Gomo is not making efforts to support the child, ‘at one point the child was not feeling well and was admitted for four days at Mt Darwin Hospital I told him and all he said was okay.’
Gomo dismissed the allegations saying that, ‘ I never told her that I love her’ he went on to say Chiroroma was amongst the colleagues who administered medication to him after he was involved in a car accident that saw the demise of his first wife.
He added that he does not remember sleeping with chiroroma ‘she must have drugged me’ although the child she has is his.
Chief Nyamaropa assessed the case and concluded that Gomo was supposed to pay $400usd for wasting chiroroma’s time and to pay lobola which comprised of the following, 2 cattle(Mombe ye danga ne ye humai) and $1500 Rusambo).
