DSTV Premiership club, Supersport United has officially confirmed and announced the departure of Warriors striker, Evans Rusike (31).
Rusike’s contract with the Kaitano Tembo coached side is set to expire at the end of this month.
The 31-year-old forward joined Matsatsantsa (Supersport) from Maritzburg United in 2018.
The Pretoria based side confirmed the exit of Rusike in a statement that was issued today Monday in the afternoon.
“SuperSport United FC would like to confirm the departure of Evans Rusike and Lucky Mohomi.
“We would like to thank Rusike and Mohomi for their contributions and wish them all the best for their future endeavors,” read the statement.
The former now defunct, Zimbabwe Saints and Kiglon striker’s depature comes at a time when he had a difficult stint at Supersport United.
In the recently finished season (2020/21) , the Chitungwiza born centre forward, failed to find the back of the net in all the 21 appearances he feature for Supersport United.
This saw the club’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Stan Matthews giving the striker a stern warning to rediscover his form or else he will face the chop.
To add on, in their statement Supersport also revealed that the Zimbabwean international will be shown the exit door together with Lucky Mohomi.
Meanwhile, according to a number of reports, the player is linked to a move to other DSTV Premiership sides
Amazulu and Kaizer Chiefs.
His former paymasters, Maritzburg United are also said to be keen on re-signing the striker.
