The Zimbabwe National Students Union (ZINASU) has condemned the continued victimization and persecution of human rights defenders.
Addressing journalists at a media conference earlier today ZINASU) representative, Busiso Khanye said that the regime is installing fear amongst the union leaders as a some of them have been arrested several times
“The regime has taken it upon itself to deploy the law enforcement sector to continuously work in installing fear on the Union leaders and members that speak in their bad governance.
“We have seen this as speaking of this year we have had multiple arrests of students that spoke to the fees must fall campaign in which we saw that we had exorbitant fees hikes of which parents could not afford the fees” said Khanye.
The students body is concerned about why are they persecuted and victimized and that the government has failed to address these issues.
“As we come up as citizens as Zimbabweans as a concerned citizen to speak up to these issues.
“We are persecuted, we are victimized, we are criminalized why.
“I stand today to say Zimbabweans where ever you are students, my fellow brothers and sisters let’s speak to the economic crisis, let’s speak to the education system let’s speak to our beloved Zimbabwe the dream our parents fought for as we speak now toward heroes month” she said.
