The Confederation of Zimbabwe Retailers (CZR) said stay-away does not solve the country’s problem but it can make them worse.

In a statement the CZR president Denford Mutashu said that these industry action brings more harm than good to the struggling economy.

“History has shown that a stay away does not solve the country’s problems but rather worsened the situation,” he said.

Mutashu advised businesses to stay away from these shutdowns because they only bring problems in the country.

“In a nutshell a stay away can cause supply chain disruptions, production stoppages, job losses.

” It can cause property disruptions, violence and loss of human life, more price instability among anthers,” said Mutashu.

He advised the businesses and the public to remain focused and forget about the stay away for the good of the country.

“CZR therefore calls for business and general public to ignore retrogressive calls for a stay away and continue to work for good of the economy,” he said.

This come after activists, university students as well as nurses are planning total shutdown on the 9th May
