Sista2Sista Programme Has Made Girls To Realize Their Talents

Murehwa …..Adolescence girls as well as young mothers in Ward 20 under Murehwa District has applauded the National AIDS Council (NAC) for introducing a programme called Sista to Sista that has helped them realizing their talents and dreams.

 

 

 

 

Sista to Sista started in 2015 but in Murehwa District it become effective in 2017.

 

 

 

In an interview with one of the girls Kudzai Nyabusha during a media tour organized by National AIDS Council (NAC) she said that this Sista to Sista programme has helped her realizing her talents.

 

 

 

 

“I joined this Sista to Sista programme five years ago and it has helped me to realize my talents because each time we come for lessons we will be doing some activities like singing, dancing and acting.

 

 

 

“Ever since I was born, I did not know that I was a great singer until I joined Sista to Sista programme I realized that I am a great singer as well as an actor, “said Kudzai Nyabusha.

 

 

 

 

Edith a member of the support group that this programme has assisted her in achieving her dreams of being an entrepreneur.

 

 

 

 

“This programme has helped me to achieve my dream I really wanted to be an entrepreneur so Sista to Sista is helping me with money that we are getting from Internal Savings and Lending (ISAL).

 

 

 

 

“This money that I am getting from ISAL is the same money that I am using to purchase clothes in Harare and sell here in Murehwa and I am earning more money to look after my family,” said Edith.

 

 

 

 

Another girl said that she was physically abused in her past marriage and had no one to share it with but with the emerging of Sista to Sista programme she realized that she can do dramas using her past experiences.

 

 

 

 

“I was once in an abusive relationship and I had no one to talk to but with this Sista to Sista programme I started acting my real life experiences because I realized that acting was in me and that was the only way to go over the memories of my past marriage,”said Bianca Kabaira.

 

 

 

Christine Huni, mentor of Sista to Sista programme in Ward 20 under in Murehwa District said that this programme has assisted more girls and young women.

 

 

 

 

“This programme has benefited more girls because I have 50 girls in my group and they are benefiting from this Sista to Sista programme as some have already identified their talents,” she said.
