Afro Jazz musician Selmor Mtukudzi has opened a grocery shop at Mungate Shopping Centre in Domboshava.
Selmor wrote on her Twitter account, “Meet the new storo keeper if you are ever in Domboshava please come and by in my new shop ‘Try Again 1’ at Mungate Shopping Centre, #TryNewThings #Grocery Shop.”
Mtukudzi have been in the music industry for the past decade and she rose to fame 2013 after releasing the album Expression which carried the hit Nguva yangu.
Her musical pedigree is well established, however she could be trying to have extra income streams following the negative impacts Covid 19 has caused in the music industry.
The pandemic has made it hard for people to live a normal life with those in the music industry not being left out.
Artists have not been performing the usual shows which could fill up the stadium and sometimes with overflows and this has affected the flow of their income.
Mtukudzi only ventured into a full time music later in life with reports indicating  after completing her Ordinary
Level studies she went to work as a sales representative different local shops.
Her fans responded to her tweet in support of her idea with some even asking to meet her at the shop.
