Newly promoted DSTV Premiership side, Sekhukhune United FC has officially announced the signing of Warriors midfielder Talent Chawapiwa on a two-year deal.
The club confirmed the signing of the former Amazulu and Baroka winger on social media.
“Sekhukhune United FC is pleased to announce the signing of 29 year old Talent Chawapiwa from Amazulu FC ahead of the 2021/22 season,” posted the side on Facebook .
“Babina Noko lets welcome our new signing.”
The 29-year-old left Usuthu to join the Tembisa based side after falling out of favour to Amazulu headcoach Benni McCarthy, resulting in him getting less game time.
Chawapiwa’s agent Michael Ngobeni confirmed the development to South Africa’s Kickoff magazine.
Ngobeni revealed to Kickoff the player’s lack of game time at Amazulu was the reason he left the club because he was not happy with the situation.
“As we know Chawapiwa is a national team player he needs game time and at Usuthu he didn’t get enough game time,” he said.
“At the end of the day he was definately unhappy to stay at Amazulu because every player’s value is on game time.
“We kept on receiving phone calls from his national team, so we decided to secure another move and we came up with a mutual agreement with Amazulu that he can move on to find game time.”
The move will see the former ZPC Kariba and FC Platinum player joining his compatriots Tapuwa Kapini, McClive Phiri and Walter Musona who also ply for their trade at the club.
