Warren Park residents expressed their gratification towards the Harare City Council (HCC) for fixing of sewer drainage system
.
The sewer had become a time bomb in the area.
Residents who spoke to this publication in an interview applauded the Council for responding quickly to their call.
” We are pleased with what the City Council has done for us they responded so quickly to our cry because there is no life when you are living in sewer,” Hezel Maridzamombe said.
Another resident appreciates the efforts made by the HCC in fixing sewer before the area was hit by diseases like Cholera.
” This is awesome because these guys did their work excellently before it was too late for us interms of contaminating diseases like cholera,” Rumbidzai Mugadza said.
Other residents said, ” Surely it was hard for us as parents to leave our children playing outside without our company because they are still young, they can play in sewage assuming that it is water.â
“I salute the HCC for doing their job well it was a thorn in my flesh these three days because I was not able to open my windows due to bad small from the sewer outside but now, I can feel the fresh air,” Chipo Mangena said.
This is not the first time for residents to applaud HCC for their good deeds but it took place recently when the Council collected litter from dumping sites in Warren Park.
