FC Platinum and Ngezi Platinum dominated the Chibuku Super Cup quarter finals after booking their spots in the semi-finals of the tournament this Saturday at the Baobab Stadium in their respective matches against the Bulawayo teams.
The Ngezi Platinum match against Chicken Inn kicked off earlier in the day at 11 with Brian Muza putting the Gamecocks into the lead just after 8 minutes of play.
Denver Mukamba was in good form scoring the all-so-spectacular goal equalizing the scores.
Nyasha Chinturi was to score the final decisive goal that put the miners in the lead until the game ended.
Meanwhile, in the later game Mandla Mpofu’s team was beaten 1-0 by FC Platinum at Baobab Stadium.
Bosso dominated the early hours of the game with Washington Navaya having a shot at goal which landed in the hands of the goalkeeper.
This was Bosso’s only shot at goal as the team continues to struggle with their stick force.
FC Platinum gaffer Norman Mapedza then introduced new young players with the likes of Panashe Matimbanyoka a 19-year–old boy who scored the only goal of the match.
“It was a good game of football. I think possession-wise we did very well. The only challenge we had was in the finals third. I think we were not creative especially in the first half,” Mapeza said after the match.
