President Emmerson Mnangagwa Thursday commissioned the critical Karanda Bridge which will enable communities’ easy access to the famous Karanda Mission hospital that does not only service Mashonaland Central but the whole country.

He also launched the Second the Phase of the Emergency Road Rehabilitation Programme here in Mt Darwin Mashonaland Province.

ERRP2, will see roads being rehabilitated across the country,

“Zimbabweans, our roads are in a state of emergency. It pains me to see so many potholes on our once great highways. We must act urgently,” President said.

“Today my government committed ZW$33.6 billion to rapidly rehabilitate 10,000 kilometres of Zimbabwe’s roads. I will not let you down.”

“This launch is indeed a key milestone, as Zimbabwe forges ahead with modernizing the national transport infrastructure, which is a key enabler for economic growth and development.”

“It is my expectation that as we roll out this strategic national programme, prudent financial management, good corporate governance, accountability, transparency and value for money remain guiding principles. Corruption of any form will not be tolerated.”
