A Mutare man Ashley Muranda (29) who went missing on Sunday night was found dead in a waterlogged trench near St Mary’s Secondary School, Mutare.
Students who were on their way from school discovered the body.
In an interview with a local media, Muranda’s mother Preacher Chidende said that her son, “was drunk when he was last seen at around 10 pm on Sunday.”
Meanwhile, the police confirmed the incident and said investigations were in progress.
This incident comes barely a day after the body of George Oposi (38) from Chitungwiza Central Hospital who went missing a fortnight ago was found in a well a stone throw away from his home.
Oposi’s body was found in a decomposing state near his Nyatsime Phase 3 home after a thorough search by his relatives and neighbors.
His body was retrieved by the police sub-aqua unit a day after his friends had reported having found a body in a well.
The ZRP reiterates that, members of the public must follow all immigration procedures when entering or exiting the country.
Police in Madlambuzi intercepted a grey Toyota D4D twin cab FF20 HP GP with trailer FH 19 PM GP laden with smuggled goods at Madlambuzi Business Centre and nabbed Mqondisi Dube (26), Reason Ncube (32) and Butholezwe Mkwananzi (41) for smuggling.
Police also recovered an abandoned Toyota GD6 vehicle GIMM 74 with trailer 002GIF GP at Mbimba Business Centre. Meanwhile, the recovered goods were taken to ZIMRA.
Police in Chipinge are investigating a murder case which occurred at Mabeure Village, Chipinge on 12/05/21 at about 1700 hours where a man (39) was fatally assaulted by three fellow villagers at a beer binge.
