From a new ambassadorship to a new home – Ndavi Nokeri has had a busy start to the week.
The newly crowned Miss South Africa kicked off her Monday at the Union Buildings in Pretoria for her official induction as an ambassador to South Africa.

Nokeri was “warmly welcomed by Deputy Minister in the Presidency, Hon. Thembi Siweya” for her induction. Afterwards, she was given a private tour of former president Nelson Mandela’s home.

During her speech, Nokeri said: “It is such an honour to be part of the Brand South Africa family.”

23-year-old Ndavi Nokeri was crowned Miss South Africa 2022 at the glittering pageant finale which was held at SunBet Arena, Time Square, Pretoria.
While many were congratulating her on being crowned Miss SA, her name Ndavi Nokeri caught some netizens’ attention.

Some tweeps found her name alien to Mzansi and attributed her nationality to Zimbabwe. Mzansi is convinced that Miss SA 2022 Ndavi Nokeri is Zimbabwean.

@MarkMor75066530: Ndavi Nokeri she looks like a Zimbabwean.
@mavulandlela: Is Nokeri Ndavi a SA’n or Zimbabwe born girl. Where was she born, her schooling before tertiary? Are her parents South African citizens or they emigrated here?

@KhutsoRapudi: Zulu tribalists are saying Ndavi Nokeri is from Zimbabwe just because that Zulu girl did not win? She must try again next year because she was too excited and her answers were not that bright.

@zimende1: Born and grew up in Zimbabwe okksalayo.
However, contrary to these allegations, Ndavi Nokeri is South African. She was born and bred in Tzaneen in Limpopo province.

Speaking during her acceptance speech, Ndavi Nokeri affirmed that she hails from Limpopo.

“For a girl from Gabaza to be seen, embraced and chosen to represent her country is a ground-breaking moment. A moment that reaffirms that our dreams are valid, regardless of where we come from.”

“I am grateful for the women who have gone before me who broke the glass ceiling so I could stand here today empowered, fulfilled and ready to proudly raise the South African flag high everywhere I go and to shine the light of hope to all South Africans,” she said in her acceptance speech.

The beauty queen is also fluent in Afrikaans, Sepedi, Xitsonga and English.
Following her induction, Miss SA made her way to the new, iconic high-rise apartment development, Ellipse Waterfall, where she was handed the keys to her new apartment.

The luxurious penthouse, worth R10.5 million, will be Nokeri’s home for her 12-month reign.
On her first day as pageant queen, Nokeri was handed the keys to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class Sedan, which she will drive during her reign.

Nokeri, from Tzaneen in Limpopo, was crowned Miss South Africa 2022 at a glittering pageant finale on Saturday night.
