The Douglas Mwonzora led MDC-T has castigated Norton legislator Themba Mliswa for physically assaulting its secretary for Legal Affairs Brian Dube and Memory Mbondiah, who are members of the Public Accounts Committee.

The alleged assault is said to have happened during a hearing on the ZESA report.

Mliswa is said to have tried to stop Dube, who is the chairperson of the committee from proceeding with the meeting.

Mbondiah was said to have recorded the fiasco on her iPad before hiding it under her breasts.

Mliswa is said to have then indecently assaulted Mbondiah as he tried to take the iPad from her.

Mbondiah punched Mliswa and a physical fight ensued.

In a statement, the MDC-T said, “First, it is the party’s public record through our two honourable members of Parliament that the work of this committee came to an abrupt end after the disturbances that were singularly orchestrated by Hon Mliswa.”

Contacted for comment, Mliswa said, “Where is the evidence?”

“Be careful not to report stories without evidence.

“I report to issues with evidence Sir and not hearsay.”
