MDCA Activist to Spend Another Night in Police Cells

Pro-democracy campaigner Makomborero Haruzivishe will tonight spend the night detained at Harare Central Police Station after a Warrant of Further Detention was granted by Harare Magistrate Sheunesu Matova to keep him in police cells until Saturday when he returns to court again.

Haruzivishe was arrested on Wednesday and is facing multiple charges related to protesting against the government.

Haruzivishe has already now spent two nights in custody.

One of the allegations is that he participated in a gathering with the intention to cause public violence.

A charge linked to when he and other youths stormed Impala car rental offices demanding justice for Tawanda Muchehiwa.

He is being represented by Obey Shava of the Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR
