Outspoken Zanu PF National Commissar Victor Matemadanda has been fired from the partyâs most influential position and assigned him to a âless glamorousâ, post a diplomatic mission.
Matemadanda was demoted at a politburo meeting held in Harare on Thursday.
Former Information Minister Professor Jonathan Moyo said while Mnangagwa basks in the infamy of turning State House into a Zanu PF Defections-Reception Centre; ZanuPF’s Commissariat, the party’s most strategic organ, has gone up in smoke.

Presidential spokesperson George Charamba yesterday confirmed that Matemadanda was no longer the partyâs political commissar or deputy minister.
â(Cde) Matemadanda was not fired, but he has been reassigned for a higher responsibility out of the country,â Charamba said.
âA number of our embassies have no representatives, hence there is a need to fill in those vacant posts.
âBut itâs up to His Excellency (Mnangagwa)âs discretion on assigning the individuals. There are a number of reassignments that are going to be taking place.â
Matemadanda, who was also War Veteran deputy minister, is reported to have been fired over incompetence after he presided over chaotic Zanu PF district coordinating committee (DCC) elections in December.
