Warriors coach Norman Mapeza on Tuesday afternoon announced his official squad for the upcoming AFCON tournament.

Mapeza named a 30-member squad that consists of five debutants.

This is part of the Warriors’ preparations ahead of the biggest continental football showpiece set to run from January 9 to February 6 next year in Cameroon.

The squad is expected to camp in Harare on Thursday few days before the gaffer selects his final 23 member squad on 31 December.

Zimbabwe are in Group together with the Lions of Teranga, Senegal, Guinea and the Flames of Malawi.

The Warriors will play Senegal, Malawi and Guinea respectively.

The team will travel without key players like Marvelous Nakamba, Khama Billiat, Tendayi Darikwa, Marshall Munetsi and Brenda Galloway owing to a number of reasons including sustained injuries.
