Mandava To Host 2021 Chibuku Cup Finale

The 2021 Chibuku Super Cup final which will see FC Platinum and Ngezi Platinum Stars square-off has been scheduled for Mandava Stadium, the Premier Soccer League (PSL) announced on Wednesday.


The tricky encounter between these two Platinum clubs will be played on December 4 and kick-off time is 14:00hours.


Mandava hosts the tournament’s finale for the second time in seven years.
The stadia last held the same fixture in 2014 when FC Platinum were crowned champions after beating Harare City in a penalty shoot-out.


The Chibuku Cup last final was played in 2019 at Babourfields Stadium when Highlanders edged Ngezi Platinum by a goal to nil, former Bosso striker Prince Dube scored the controversial solitary goal.


Meanwhile, both Ngezi and FC Platinum meet in the Chibuku final for the second time having met in 2016 when the former lifted their first competitive trophy.



To reach the final stage for the second consecutive time, Mhondoro based side, Ngezi defeated Chicken Inn in the quarter final stage before handing Cranborne Bullets a defeat in the semi-finals.


Then to make their way to the final the Zvishavane based side, FC Platinum edged the country’s two giant clubs, Bosso and Dembare in the quarter final and semi-final stages respectively.



This year’s winners will walk away with US$75 000 while the losing finalists will be comforted with a US$50 000 price money.
