Raymond Chagwambare was dragged to Chief Bush’s traditional court for impregnating an under aged girl and forcing her to terminate her pregnancy.
Complainant is Tererai Chipadze of Bushu village.
Chipadze claims that Chagwambare impregnated his child who was under age then and he later on gave her unknown medication to terminate her pregnancy.
“I brought Chagwambare to court because he impregnated my child Ruvimbo who is 16 years of age.”
“Later we found a bottle of unknown medicine which my daughter claims that Chagwambare gave her to remove his pregnancy” said Chipadze.
In his defence Chagwambare told the court that he was in love with Ruvimbo and he did not know that she was an under aged child.
“I impregnated her but I did not know that she was 16 years I later realized that she was 16 years, we were in love” said Chagwambare.
Ruvimbo Chipadze the girl in question was brought in before Chief Bushu for questioning, she first denied the allegations that she was in love with Chagwambare.
She claimed that she was not in love with him and Chagwambare forced himself on her and he raped her.
“I was not in love with him, he told me that he loves me but I did not tell him that I love him.
“I went to his shop to ask for change which was left there, he told that I should wait whilst he finishes serving other customers.
“He later closed the doors of his shop and then he dragged me and he forced himself on me and he raped me.” she said.
The medicine was later on brought to the court and Ruvimbo claimed that that is the medicine Chagwambare gave her to drink but Chagwambare denied and refused to drink the medicine.
“I did not give her this medicine, I do not this medicine she is lying” said Chagwambare.
Chief Bushu fined Raymond Chagwambare 8 cows and a goat.
