A Madziva man Nelson Gwashure was fined three goats for marrying Edina Manyanga the wife of Cryson Makanda his neighbour
Nyamaropa has ordered that Edina must remain single having divorced his husband earlier.
Manyanga and Mukanda divorced officially in Chief Nyamaropa’s court in January this year and she was given two months to remain single without being married but she later got married to Gwashure before the time elapsed.
In an interview with Sly media, Gwashure told the court that he was not aware that Manyanga was not supposed to be married until a specific time that was proposed by Chief Nyamaropa.
“l was not aware that I was not supposed to marry her because she did not tell me that she was given a time frame to remain single.
“I married her because we have agreed that I was going to marry her and take care of her children because I met her six months ago and she told me that she was single.
“l went to her parents and I paid lobola because they told me that she was a divorcee so I went on and married her without knowing that she was given time to remain single by Chief,” said Gwashure.
Makanda went on to say that he wanted his property back that his wife stole and kept at Gweshure’s house.
“She stole my property and hide at Gwashure’s house which includes Tobacco bales, doors, radios and speakers among other things.
“I just want my properties and my children back because from the day she left I have not set my eyes on them.
“The most painful thing is that this man is my neighbor we used to help each other in hard times but now she snatched my family away,” said Makanda.
Edina told the court that her sexual desire pushed her to got married earlier than expected
“I really wanted to wait before I got married as Chief instructed me to do but I failed because I was trying to find someone who was willing to help me because life become hard for me and the children.
“I was homeless Chief so I wanted someone to take care of me that is the reason why I married Gweshure,” she said.
Chief Nyamaropa fined Gweshure three goats for ignorance for marrying Manyanga before she completed the time she was given by the court to remain single.
