The ZRP is warning members of the public against unlawful acquisition and use of explosives, particularly Artisanal Miners.
The warning follows an explosion incident at Cassa Banana Farm, Norton on 09/03/21 where three men (23; 23; 49) were injured after a blast from explosives kept in a satchel bag.
Police investigations so far have established that the explosives were obtained unlawfully for illegal mining purposes in Mazowe
Meanwhile the victims sustained severe lacerations all over the body and were sent to hospital.
The ZRP is warning members of the public against child abuse and encourages all citizens to report incidences of child abuse at any nearest Police Station.
On 08/03/21, Police in Madziva arrested a man (31) for ill treating his three children (6; 7; 9).
The suspect burnt the victims with plastics and caned them with a wooden stick several times all over the body after accusing them of eating boiled fresh maize.
Meanwhile the victims sustained severe burn wounds and were sent to hospital.
The ZRP is warning members of the public against complacency on the current COVID-19 regulations, particularly failing to wear masks.
Since 01/03/21 to-date a total of 14 938 people have been arrested for failing to wear masks.
As at 30/03/20 to-date, a cumulative total of 499 805 people were arrested for COVID-19 related violations. On 09/03/21, a total of 2 466 people were arrested for COVID-19 related breaches, of which 1 777 were for failing to wear masks.
