Warriors coach, Zdravko Logarusic is impressed by the players’ mentality and positive attitude, despite difficulties facing the national team in camp preparing for the upcoming two crucial AFCON qualifier matches.

Addressing journalists on Tuesday the Croat said players were prepared both physically and mentally for the crucial game against the Zebras of Botswana.

“We have been affected by a number of things in preparation for this game but I saw the atmosphere with the boys who are available in camp, they are ready, committed and they want to play,” he said.

“It gives me courage that we will try our best in Botswana.”

Loga has included some new faces in his squad, giving the likes of Martin Mapisa, Perfect Chikwende and Last Jesi their first senior national team call up.

This follows the unavailability of some foreign based players who could not feature for the games due to Covid-19 travel restrictions that were put in place by European governments.

Given the key players’ absence, the former Go Mahia gaffer had to adjust to the situation and work without the likes of Marvelous Nakamba, Tendai Darikwa and others who were available when Zimbabwe hosted Algeria at National Sports Stadium, last November.

The quick recovery of Warriors’ captain Knowledge Musona recovered came as a relief, though Khama Billiat, Knox Mutizwa and Prince Dube remain unavailable due to sustained injuries.

Musona’s experience is expected to help Zimbabwe get a positive result.

He told the media that they supported each other and play as a team even though combinations could be troublesome since there were new faces in the team.

The Belgian based skipper said he believed new players included in the crucial two last AFCON qualifier matches proved they were quality players.

Below is the official 23-man squad that was confirmed by ZIFA:
