Zimbabwe’s football fraternity is calling on the Zimbabwe Football Association (ZIFA) to ‘save’ the country’s most popular sport, football, from humiliation by immediately firing Warriors head coach Zdravko Logarusic.

This comes after the Warriors lost to the Ethiopians by 1 goal to nil on Tuesday afternoon, only to extend coach Loga’s poor record since he got appointed as the senior national head coach, last year.

So far, the Croat has only managed to register a single win against Botswana in all the 14 games he has been in charge of the Warriors.

He (Loga) has a record eight defeats, five draws and one win.

Warriors fans took to social media platforms criticising the gaffer and demanding his evacuation from the office with immediate effect and be replaced by a local coach.

This publication observed some notable negative comments directed to coach Loga from the Warriors fans when they shared their comments on ZIFA’s post regarding update on yesterday’s fulltime scoreline.

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services permanent secretary Nick Mangwana twitted, “You can’t just go around blaming everybody but yourself.”
“Take responsibility and do the right thing. Baya!”

Ishmael Kudemera posted on Facebook, “#Loga must gooo we need Mapeza, how can we continue keeping this useless Croat, enough is enough.”

Manake Pavel posted, “Enough of Logarusic show him the exit door, he has been horrible, the results speak clearly.

“Give the job to Kaitano or Norman Mapeza.”

After yesterday’s defeat, Zimbabwe are now bottom in Group G with a single point from two games, three points behind South Africa and two points behind Ghana and Ethiopia.

Bafana Bafana are the Group G log leaders with four points, while Ghana and Ethiopia are seated on second and third positions with three points each.

The Warriors’ next World Cup qualifier game is a tricky and crucial back-to-back encounter against Ghana.

Zimbabwe will firstly travel to Ghana then return home to host the fading giants three days after.

If there are no any changes from FIFA, the games are scheduled for 6 and 10 October 2021.
