Khupe Snub Mwonzora, Dismisses Claims She Has Accepted His Leadership

Thokozani Khupe said her absence was motivated by issues she had raised emanating the from chaotic party’s extra-ordinary congress held in December that needed to be addressed.

“I can confirm that I met with Sen. Douglas Mwonzora in Harare on 18 February 2021 for the first time since 27 December 2020 Extraordinary Congress, Khupe said.


Addressing media at a  press conference the new MDCT leader Douglas Mwonzora said Khupe now recognises his leadership.

“Dr khupe is still on her to way from Bulawayo she sent a message that she was not going to make it on time for this press conference,” Mwonzora said.

“Yes, Dr Khupe is working with us and we have resolved the issues us and the leadership, so next time you are going to see the two vice presidents together.”

“You also see that some of the members of the standing committee are not present, this is because we have been affected by the Covid.”

“But if you want to know whether she recognise my leadership or not she has herself told me that she does recognise the leadership.”

In attedance was co vice president Elias Mudziri, national chairperson Morgen Komichi, treasure general Tapiwa Mashakada and secretary general Paulina Mpariwa.
