Reigning Soccer Star of the Year, Joel ‘Josta’ Ngodzo is back at his parent club Highlanders FC, the club has officially announced his return.
The Bulawayo giants took to their Facebook page to announce their re-union with the former Caps United midfielder.
“We are pleased to announce that Joel Welcome ‘Josta’ Ngodzo has joined the club.
“Josta, a product of the club’s Youth structures is the reigning Castle Larger Premier Soccer League Soccer Star of the year who adds experience to the squad,” reads their FB post.
This is the second time Josta has made his way back to his parent club.
The 32-year-old firstly moved to “moneybags” FC Platinum in 2011 for a whooping transfer fee that saw him being the most expensive player in the history of football in Zimbabwe till to date.
However, the Zvishavane based side offloaded him after 3 seasons and he went back to Highlanders under the watchful eye of Zambian coach Kelvin Kaindu.
Nonetheless, the arrival of Bongani Mafu as the replacement of Kaindu as the new head coach at Bosso, led to exit of the Warriors international star in 2015.
He then joined Harare giants Caps United where he turned out for 5 seasons with the Green Machine before leaving for Zambia’s top flight league in 2020.
Nyamazana as other football fans affectionally know him in the football fraternity became a recognisable key figure in Llyod Chitembwe’s team which won the Championship on the last day of the season in 2016.
In Zambian was turning out for Buildcon before he returned back home at the end of 2020.
In a quest to boost their squad, Bosso has roped in three other players.
Former How Mine and FC Lupopo forward Toto Banda, Hwange and Manica Diamond star Pritchard Mpelelele, defender Crispen “Goso” Ncube, striker Lynoth Chikuhwa, Midfielder Winston Mhango and Defender Andrew Tandi.
Highlanders are set to travel to Harare to play rivals Dynamos in the Uhuru Cup at the National Sports Stadium, this coming Sunday.
The match has officially been lined-up for 13:00hrs.
