Health Ministry Holds A 5 Day Training Workshop For Journalists

Health Ministry is holding a 5 day media training on outbreaks and immunization.

The media training programs consists of more than 20 journalists with some facilitators from the Ministry of Health.

The training workshop will involve field visits to Mashonaland East and Central where journalists are expected to experience first-hand measures and procedures that will be contacted by the Ministry of Health.

Mrs Nyaradzai Chiwara Director Nursing Services in the Health Ministry who was standing in for Dr Max Hove the Curative Director in the Ministry said the workshop was the first of its kind and hoped that it will continue to have more create more opportunities to interact and share current developments in the health sector for mutual benefit.

“Without strategic media engagement the Ministry may not be able to fulfil its mandate of equitably delivering quality health services to the people of Zimbabwe especially with regards to information dissemination. We are therefore stronger together and pulling in one direction” she said.

Mr Norman Dzirambi Health Promotion Manager in the Ministry said that the main objectives of the training is to improve collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the media fraternity in disseminating information.

“The objectives of the training is to improve collaboration between the Ministry of Heath and Child Care and the media I dissemination of Heath messages particularly outbreaks” he said.
