Government has reviewed upwards the producer price for the 2022/23 summer cropping season.
In a statement, the Grain Millers Association said the new producer price for maize will now be ZWL100 000 plus USD90.00 per metric tonne from ZWL 75.000 plus USD 90.00 per metric tonne.
Traditional Grains will go from ZWL 75,000 plus USD 90,00 to ZWL 100,000 plus USD 90,00
Soya Beans moved from ZWL 171,495 plus USD 90,00 to ZWL 228,660 plus USD 90,00
Sunflower from ZWL 205,794 plus USD 90,00 to ZWL 274,392 plus USD 90,00.
GMB says farmers need to immediately deliver their harvest to the nearest deport or collection point.
“We are further encouraging farmers who had not opened their Nostro accounts to do so to enable us to deposit the foreign currency component.
GBM has assured farmers that they are ready to efficiently receive and pay them without delays.
