Zimdancehall multi-award winner Emegy Silvester āFreemanā Chizanga scooped two 2023 National Arts Merit Awards (NAMA)
Freeman walked away with Best Male Musician and Best Album Awards.
His 2022 album David and Goliath made waves in the country and topped the charts of local radio stations.
The Awards were held in Harare at the Harare International Conference Centre (HICC).
Posting on his Facebook page, Chizanga expressed his gratitude to his legion of fans for making it possible until this day.
“This is for you maGalis, Outstanding Male Artist and Outstanding Album I really don’t know how to express myself towards this.
“It feels great to be appreciated for your craft by your own,”he wrote.
He went on to say that apart from being supported by the fans they are other crucial people who made this win possible for him.
“Would want to give thanks to mh crew the management team Witson Kafelapanjila,Minnox and Mitchelle Mukaro you guys have been working so hard my HKD Band cres pese patinoenda kuma shoes they always come up with ideas of new songs thanks family.
“My distributors, Jungle you always make sure my music reaches most territories.
“My respect also goes to National Arts Merit Awards thanks for this big recognition not forgetting National Arts Council of Zimbabwe for walking with us as artists all the way.
“Beyond the boarders I would want to thank Christopher Martin and his crew deyah ina JA thanks fam your contribution made a big difference,” he said.
Chizanga went on to promise his fans that they should be on the look for more songs this March.
“I hope you guys are also ready this March I have visuals on visuals rolling out starting 06:03,”wrote Chizanga.
