Succeed Magatsi (24) of Hopely said he started taking drugs at the age of 21 after falling a victim of peer pressure from his friends.
However Magatsi applauded ZICHIRe for equipping him with knowledge on the effects of drugs and the programme bears fruits.
In an interview with Sly Media, during a National Aids Council (NAC) media tour in Harare, Magatsi said that he regrets being in the company of bad friends
“I started taking drugs at the age of 21 and it was because I had no self-control and the ability to choose friends,” he said.
“By the time I was taking drugs with my friends every time we met I thought it was at better decision then.
“I felt like that was the good pattern to take as ghetto youths of taking drugs.
“The things that I used to do that I still recall is that I become naughty to an extend that my own mother used to tell people around me to just let me do what I want.
“I remember I used to harass my siblings at home because I had developed into something else that was unimaginable.
“I had lost all the respect I had for the elders to an extend that I used to shout at them after warning me about taking drugs.” he added.
Magatsi said that, amongst the drugs he started taking was Marijuana and later to Crystal meth.
“Initially I started with Mbanje and further moved to Mutoriro and I discovered that Mutoriro was good.”
“I begin to buy Mutoriro using my own money because I become addicted.
