In the statement, ZACC spokesperson Jonh Makamure, said Chiro and Enver Freight Services (EFS) Pvt Ltd manager Forget Maguza defrauded the State of import duty funds by falsely declaring consignments of groceries they were importing into the country.

“Maguza (who is still at large) forged a signature of the late Ernest Muswera on the document and fraudulently renew the company bond of EFS ltd in-order to achieve their goal,” he said.

“The two further cleared the five trucks but falsely declared the quantity of goods in which they claimed that they were destined to Zambia.”

Makamure said three of the trucks were stopped by the Zimbabwe Revenue Authority officials at Zindoga Shopping Center in Harare and other groceries such as washing powder, foam bath, lotions, chocolates, dish-washing liquids shoe polish and perfumes were recovered.

“The other two trucks were said to be on their way to Harare while the two were intercepted but were later driven to an unknown destination and are still nowhere to be found,” said Makamure.
