Police in Bulawayo are looking for 3 dangerous rapists who escaped from Mzilikazi police station on Saturday night around 8PM.
Pardon Makuni (19), Mernad Gwatiedza (22), and Ashly Moses (21), all from Gweru, were held at Hwahwa prison and were brought to Bulawayo on 18 November 2021 for investigations concerning cases of rape, break in and robbery which occurred in Nkulumane.
It is understood the trio escaped from police cell when police officers at Mzilikazi Police station were doing a shift change hand over around 7.50PM.
The outgoing shift officers brought one police officer to the cells for a proper hand over then the suspects pushed one officer to the wall they then jumped over the fence and ran.
The police officers involved on the escaping of the suspects have been charged for negligence and poor performance for causing an illegal escape from custody.
The police are seeking for information with the whereabouts of the suspects.
