Zanu PF First Secretary and President Emmerson Mnangagwa said everyone including those who were expelled in 2017 are welcome to rejoin the ruling party.

Mnangagwa encouraged party supporters to welcome anyone who wants to join the party.

“Even today Zanu PF accepts everyone who wants to join from all over the country, even those who had left the party and wish to re-join,” he said.

A number of young politicians who aligned themselves with President Mugabe’s wife Grace under the G40 banner fled the country and were subsequently expelled from the party.

Some have since been writing application letters for readmission into the party and last year ZANU PF readmitted some of its expelled members on condition, they do not contest for any position for a period of between two and five years on a case to case basis.

The Saturday by elections are coming as a result of the various recalls from parliament by opposition MDC T.

Twenty-eight constituencies from across the country will be going to the polls to elect new members.

The MDC T also recalled a number of councilors whom it accuses of join another political party.

The recalls were necessitated by insights that rocked the opposition MDC T as members jostled for leadership following the passing on of its founding leader Morgan Tsvangirai.
