Rising Afropop songbird Cinatra real name Angeline Moyo has released an emotionally charged music video for her song Checkmate.
The love song, Checkmate was released in March this year.
“Checkmate is a heartbreaking song of a young lady who got disappointed by her man who had promised to take her out to her favorite spot , unfortunately the guy happened to forget about his promise and spent time with his other girlfriend,” said Cinatra.

“This song speaks about things that do happen in real life but as a women we do not breakdown but act strong and show that even without him I can still be the person I wanna be I can still live without men.
Cinatra expressed happiness to the response from her fans and is optimistic about her career.
” I have already broken the ground and my fan base is increasing by each day so all I can say is that watch out as
I take over as the best artist, not only in Zimbabwe but beyond,” she said.
Like fellow artists, Cinatra bemoaned lack of funding for the music industry as a major drawback.
“I started singing and recording in 2015 and I did a number of songs at different studios until I got signed at McChevy studio in 2021 where I recorded current songs Feel you close ft Maskiri, Show me and Checkmate,” she said.
“I came to the point of wanting to give up music due to financial instabilities but I’m thankful to McChevy studio which came to my rescue and now I am able to record music without the worry of how I will pay my studio session without the worry of how I will shoot my music videos which happens to be the challenges I faced before I met these guys.”
Forward Gurira spokesperson of MC Chevy studio said Cinatra was a talented young lady who had not yet found the opportunity to shine on a big platform.
“Cinatra is a very talented young lady who was about to give up because of lack of funding and there are many young people who are facing the same problem yet they are very talented,” he said.
“This is due to sponsors who are focusing on big names yet those big names began from somewhere at one point and this is causing immature death of talents in our nation.
“At MC Chevy we work with talent, if we observe anyone who is talented we nurture the talent and we call upon all like minded sponsors to come aboard so that we retain talent in our country.”
