Highly-rated Caps United attacking midfielder, Ronald ‘Rooney’ Chitiyo’s father, Frank Chitiyo (74) has passed on, Rooney confirmed the devastating news to this reporter.
Speaking to SlyMediaNews, Chitiyo said the cause of his father’s death is not yet known, however the player indicated that his father suddenly got ill last week.
“We are not yet sure about the cause of his death. He was a strong man who didn’t fall ill every time,” he said.
“But last week he started vomiting and later during the day told us he was now fine.
“Though the following night he started again.”
Chitiyo also said his father’s death has caught him with a heavy heart.
“I am in pain, he is the only person that supported me since junior level,”
“He was always supportive to me, he has been advising me in every professional move that I took. May his soul rest in peace.”
The Warriors star said the burial arrangements are not yet known, however the family announce them in due course.
