Simba SC midfielder, Perfect Chikwende desires to be called up for the Warriors’ upcoming tour of duty in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

The former FC Platinum man, secured a move to Dar es Salaam in January, after a splendid perfomance in the CAF champions with the reigning champions.

Chikwende told SlyMediaNews he would be delighted to be named in the Warriors’ provisional squad.

“I will be happy to get Warriors call up,” he said.
“It is my wish to represent the country at major tournaments in the national team colours.
“I have never played for the Warriors and it is every players dream to play for the senior national team.”

In his debut for Simba SC, the 27-year old forward scored a crucial goal when they thrashed Sudanese giants Al Hilal 4-1 to lift the Simba Super Cup in Tanzania.

Meanwhile, Warriors coach, Zdravko Logarusic is expected to announce on Tuesday the AFCON squad for the much anticipated final two AFCON qualifier matches set for next month.

However, Logarusic might have to do without key players like Marvelous Nakamba and Tendai Darikwa who ply their trade in England as their host country has introduced stringent travel laws.

Zimbabwe will travel to Gaborone to face the Zebras of Botswana on March 25 before hosting Zambia at the National Sports Stadium four days later.

The Warriors are in group H with Algeria, Zambia and Botswana.
Algeria who have already qualified, lead the group with 10 points, 5 ahead of Zimbabwe who are seated on second position.

Botswana are on third position with 4 points whilst Zambia anchor the group with 3 points.

Zimbabwe has a huge chance to qualify, if win against Botswana and Algeria beat Zambia.
