Chief Zvimba who made headlines for ordering Grace Mugabe widow of the late former President Robert Mugabe to exhume the remains of her husband has denied having written the letter.

This comes after a letter said to be from Chief Zvimba was sent to the former First Lady summoning her to the village court on charges of wrongful burial of Mugabe as well as ordering for his exhumation.

Speaking to the media, Chief Zvimba said he only got to hear about from the media.
“ I don’t know what you are talking about and I never heard about it, I stay in remote areas where there is no televisions or radios so I am surprised to hear such news,”he said.

“No body has informed me about the plans to exhume Mugabe’s remains.
“You are the one who is telling me.”

Chief Zvimba denied calling for the exhumation of former President Mugabe’s body.

“ I am very worried because someone just called me now asking the same story and I would want to comment on anything because I would be lying,” he said.

“I am not a ghost who speaks in the air, so how can people say I did something yet I do not even know anything.

“I do not want to speak on things that I do not know, I am not a lier.”

President Mugabe’s body was buried at his rural home in Zvimba after a controvesial debate on where his remains would be laid to rest two years ago.

President Mugabe is said to be the one who refused to be laid at the Heroes Acre after he was betrayed by his party when he was ousted from Government in 2017.

Speaking during an interview on SABC, Mugabe’s nephew Patrick Zhuwao mentioned that President Mnangagwa was insecure upcoming elections so he was doing all this as a way of securing his postion for 2023.

“He (President Mnangagwa) believes that Mugabe led the country because he was given a sceptor by 16 tradional leaders though he was told there was no such story,” he said.

“He still believes that Mugabe was buried with it, so by exhuming his remains he wants to lie to the people that he now has the sceptor and therefore perpetrate violence in the upcoming elections.”
Zhuwao said the Mugabe family was not going to attend the exhumation ceremony.
