The Caps United trio of experienced speedy winger Phineas Bamusi, newly arrived duo of striker Ian Nyoni and midifielder Leeroy Mavhunga are now fit, an official has said.
Speaking to Sly Media News, an official confirmed the three trained with the rest of the squad this whole week and were up for selection ahead of the city derby.
“Those that were injured include Leeroy Mavhunga, Phineas Bamusi, Ian Nyoni and Valentine Musarurwa,” said the official.
“However, from those four only Musarurwa is still nursing his injury but as for the others there are now back.
“They trained with the rest of the squad, they might get selected for the game against Dynamos.”
Bamusi only played the opening fixture against Yadah FC, which ended in a disappointing 1-1 draw, before sustaining a muscle injury.
Whilst, both Nyoni and Mavhunga who are yet to play their debut for the Green Machine, got injured before the Chibuku Super Cup tournament commenced.
Mavhunga joined Caps from Yadah and Nyoni is on loan from division one side Chapungu FC who got relegated in the previous season.
The return of the three means Dodo who has five points out of a possible nine, has now acquired more arsenal upfront.
This follows after his (Dodo) side seem to have been relying more one man for their goals that is new boy Ishamael Wadi.
Wadi has rescued Makepekepe in thier opening two matches, scoring a brace against Yadah and one versus Harare City to salvage a draw on both occassions.
Though the new Caps United ‘hero’ did not find the back of the net when his team came from behind to beat Herentals 2-1.
This time goals came from unsual faces through striker Tinashe Balakasi and highly-rated midfielder, Blessing Sarupinda.
Caps United and Dynamos will square off in a Chibuku Super Cup Group 1 final match of the first round.
Sunday’s game could see Dynamos who are Group 1 log leaders extend their stay at the top if they avoid a defeat against their bitter rivals, Caps United.
If coach Dodo’s charges who are on second position with five points, collect maximum points on Sunday, they will climb the leader to the summit of the table on 8 points.
A draw by both teams will see Dynamos remain at the top as Caps United will still mantain the second position.
