Lengwani Mavhunga and Munyaradzi Mafararikwa have been hospitalised at Parirenyatwa Hospital in Harare after they were assaulted while in police detention while Mavhunga’s face was sprayed with a white substance while in detention.

“Mr Emmerson Mnangagwa, Legwani is not able to walk coz of torture by your security service agency. So is his colleague. This is evil. The world cannot continue to be silent,” MDCA vice chairperson Job Sikhala posted on twitter.

“They have suddenly rushed him to Parirenyatwa Hospital from Harare Central Law & Order section after the world has been alerted to his desperate situation.”

“They are refusing him to be attended to by private doctors from well-wishers. Your voice is very important this hour.”

“This young man Legwani Mavhunga has been badly tortured by the State security agencies yesterday after he was caught at Rotten Row Magistrates Court on the grounds of attending my court. I am told he has been burnt by unknown substance on his face and tortured all-over his body.”
